Though the complete figures are not yet available, it is already quite clear that this year’s Hawke’s Bay spring show’s attendance and gate receipts will constitute a record. The receipts so far total £1,444 for tlie two days, with returns from day sales and tickets taken on special trains, which carried record traffic, yet to be accounted for. as against a gross return of £1.393 last year. The attendance yesterday probably exceeded 26,000, while last year’s figure was under 24.000. The attendance at the first show in 1372 was 400. Parked on the showgrounds yesterday were 2,215 motor-cars, while many hundreds more were ranged along the roadside, extending some distance from the gates.
