UPROAR IN PARLIAMENT

PRUSSIAN DIET FORCED TO ADJOURN MINISTER’S BOLD ATTACK ( United ServiceJ BERLIN, Thursday. There were stormy scenes in the Prussian Diet during the debate on a Nationalist motion of no-confidence against the Government, as a result of the dissolution of the Steel Helmets, a formerly powerful Nationalist organisation, on October 10. The Minister of the Interior, Herr Crzesinski, was explaining the reason for the step when attendants brought in trays containing daggers, revolvers, knuckledusters, corkscrews and other arms, which were seized at Nationalist meetings at Berlin. “These are the sort of weapons with which the Nationalist and Communist criminals carry on politics,” declared Herr Crzesinski, which caused an immediate Nationalist uproar which increased until the sitting was adjourned. On resuming Herr Crzesinski, facing the Nationalists, described them as enemies of the Republic. “I shall ruthlessly take action against any organisation seeking to overthrow or endanger the Republic. I shall warn only once,” he said.

The Government parties received the Minister’s statement with . loud cheers and the Nationalists and Communists with shouts of abuse.
