EX-KAISER ON WARPATH

There is abundant evidence that the ex-Kaiser is not repeat! nt, and that he still holds violent anti-British views, in an article written by Brigadier-General W. H. Waters in the Quarterly Review. Describing a visit to the ex-Kaiser at Doom, Holland, the writer, who at one time military attache at Berlin, says he was invited to go there as part of an attempt to counter ■®hat the ex-Kaiser described as "the vile intrigue of British statesmen.” Vilhelm discussed the alleged hunger blockade of Germany during the war. He said: "England will have to answer to Heaven for that atrocity.”
Referring to reparation, the exKaiser said bitterly: “If justice were done all those milliards of marks Bhould be repaid.” The letter of invitation received by General Waters to visit Doom began: An ocean of abuse, vilification, iniamy, slander and lies has rolled over n ) e * it came from London. It disclosed a spirit of debased and venomous hatred which I did not expect from a country in whose national sorrows I had shared.
“My whole life was filled with the nope of establishing a better understanding between Britain and Germany which might have led to an agreement or an alliance. But all my quiet labour was utterly destroyed and instead of an ally I became an archfiend—the Hun, Attila.”
