Whangarei Trotting Stalwarts Make Good NORTHLAND CLUB HISTORY ' Although the Northland Trotting Club has only been operating as a totalisator body since 1925 it has made fine progress and this is due in a large measure to the excellent foundation laid in previous days when the sport was conducted without the aid of the speculative machine. After gleaning some of the facts concerning the earlier days cf the light harness sport in the Whangarei district, “Abaydos” is of the opinion that members of the Northland club, and particularly those who pioneered the movement are entitled to be considered something more than enthusiasts for tho dogged determination with which they kept the movement going in the district.
