WOMAN SERIOUSLY HURT
KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR-CAR
DOMINION ROAD ACCIDENT As the result of being knocked down by a motor-car at the tram loop of the Dominion Road terminus at about 6.20 last evening, Miss Muriel Veronica Melody, aged 23, of 1 Westminster Road, Mount Eden, had her skull fractured. It is thought that Miss Melody had alighted from the tram and was crossing the road when she was struck by a motor-car said to have been driven by Mr. John Price, 74 Station Road, Avondale, which was imoceeding in the direction of Mount Roskill. Miss Melody, who was thrown in front of the car, appears to have struck her head against the back mudguard. The St. John Ambulance was summoned and the injured woman was conveyed to the Auckland Hospital, where her condition is reported to be serious.
