Fancy Dress Ball
BRIGHT DECORATIONS AT MANGERE EAST GATHERING CROQUET CLUB FUNDS BENEFIT i The Mangere East Croquet Club held lan enjoyable plain and fancy dress ! ball in the Mangrere East Public Hall I last evening, which was decorated with a canopy of multi-coloured streamers j and Japanese lanterns. , There was a large attendance of | members of the club and their friends, j "bo spent a gray evening dancing to i the strains of Mrs. Andrews's orches- ' tra. The duties of masters of ceremonies were carried out by Messrs. G. Laslett and F. Pheasant. Between dances a number of very enjoyable musical items were contributed by Mrs. Massey, Miss B. Wyllie, Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Moffitt, vocal solos, and Mr. Bennett, musical monologue. Tli© task of judging the fancy dresses was in the hands of Mesdames C. Schnauer, G. Patterson and J. B. DANCE AT ROTOWARO FOR BONFIRE FUND A very enjoyable dance was held in the Rotowaro Pavilion in aid of the children’s November 5 Bonfire Funds. The hall was tastefully decorated with lycopodium and red, gold and black streamers. During the evening streamers and confetti were thrown and paper hats were given out during the supper interA'al. Excellent music was provided by Miss J. Allen and Alessrs. Stirling and Pendleton. Several novelty dances were held, the prizewinners being:—Alonte Carlo, Aiiss R. Gill and B. Beaumont; second Alonte Carlo, Aiiss I. AlcCallum and J. Spence. Number competition dance, Aiiss D. Barlow and J. Crook. Spot waltz, Aiiss Cloutt and J. Barlow. Among those present were:—Airs.
