TE AWAMUTU SWIMMING
CO-OPERATION WITH SCHOOL At the annual meeting of # the Te Awamutu Swimming Club a decision was made to co-operate with the district high school committee in securing the services of an Auckland instructor for a week’s tuition for school children in February. The meeting also decided to apply to the New Zealand Council to have Te Awamutu included in the proposed itinerary of the two visiting Australian champions, N. Ryan and R. Greer. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. C. G. Downes; president, Mr. R. A. Coyne (rc*-elected); vicepresidents, Mrs. W. H. Wood and Messrs. J. Middlebrook, G. Jeffs, S. A. Empson and R. Laurie; secretary, Mr. TI. E. Wilson; treasurer, Mr. A. G. Warburton: auditor, Mr. W. McGivern; club captain, Mr. R. L. Adams; vice-captain, Mr. B. Gibson; handicapper, Mr. G. M. Blair; committee, Miss K. Wallace* Dr. K. Pliskens, Messrs. K. Mills, G. M. Blair, J. Coyne, H. Plolt, H. K. Smith and F. Battson; delegates to South Auckland Centre, Messrs. R. A. Coyne and S. A. Empson.
