Watson, mine manager of the Waro Collieries, Whangarei, and a son of Mr. John Watson, general manager of the Taupiri Coal Company, has been appointed manager of the Wilton Collieries, Glen Massey. Mr. L. A. Falsh, British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, left by train for Wellington last evening with Mrs. Paish. Ho has been attending the annual conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Mr. J. B. Foster, American Trade Commissioner, and Mrs. Foster are expected to return to New Zealand by the Aorangi, duo at Auckland on November 3. On the same boat will be Mr. M. L. Black, who will take up the position of second Assistant-Trade Commissioner. Mr. J. IE Murdoch. M.A., principal of Scots College. Wellington, has resigned his position as from the end of the present year. Mr. and Mrs. Murdoch will leave then for England, where after a few months’ holiday Mr. Murdoch will take a post-graduate course of study at a British University. Mr. C. P. Agar, of Christchurch, president of the New Zealand Associated Chambers of Commerce. Mr. Norton Francis, president of the Canterbury Chamber, and Mr. A. H.
