TAURANGA NOTES
The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce decided at its last meeting to ask the Government to place a number of the unemployed on the Katrnai Road to finish the improvements by reducing the bends on the road. Mr. J. G. Green, chairman of the Harbour Board, reported that the Richardson Steamship Company intended commencing a steamer service between Tauranga and Southern ports. The Justice Department is to be } asked to have the police station and constables’ houses rebuilt. A committee reported upon a reserv :■ on the A\ alroa River and recommend d the County Council to procure it for a picnic site. * if * A lad, Geoi painful accident at the skating rink on Saturday night. The skater in front fell, causing Bougen to fall, and i others fell upon him, breaking his | wrist.
