HANDICAPPER’S OPINION
XI ANDICAPPER PAUL, who was j ** ■*" present at the Waikato fixture on Saturday was evidently greatlv impressed with the performance of First Flight, judging by the way he has applied the penalty of the new rule in the filly’s case. The three-year-old won her first race at Claudelands over 1 5-8 miles off 3-56 (which is equal to a tick under 3.38 for twelve furlongs). i First Flight is now on 3-33 at Epsom, and as the full penalty allowable for her win is 48 yards, she has got the worst of the deal. Great Parrish who won his third race on Saturday off a 2-572 ten furlong mark, which allows of a 36 yards penalty, is only asked to concede First Flight one second, | being placed on 3.32. On the Auckland handicappers judgment the filly is going to be very [• troublesome to the colt in the Derby.
