THE presence of several smart threc-year-olds in the Shorts Handicap at Trentham next week makes the Wellington sprint much more interesting—and a much more difficult problem to elucidate. However, here are half a dozen possibilities: PAGAN ELLI SILVERMINE EAGLET ARROW LAD WHITE FANG FALSE SCENT There were 36 horses entered, and the problem may be somewhat easier—on paper—after the acceptances next Friday night.
