THAMES HOSPITAL BOARD

? From Our Oicn Correspondent THAMES, Tuesday. The Waihi Hospital Board notified the Thames Board at its meeting yesterday that it had decided to reduce the fees payable by the former to 9s for adults and 4s Gd for children. The laundry department has not been working satisfactorily at the hospital and it was decided to obtain the services of Mr. McDonald, of Devonport, to inspect the laundry plant and to instruct the staff how to work it. Sister Patterton, who has been in charge of the maternity annexe, resigned in order to attend a refresher course at Dunedin. The question of equipment of the Paeroa Hospital, which is under the jurisdiction of the Thames Board, came up for discussion. No tenderer had quoted for a complete outfit. The purchase of equipment was left to the chairman and secretary.
