WORKING OVERTIME?
OTAHUHU WORKSHOPS HOURS ALL AVAILABLE ON SHIFTS THU sc.’.VS Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Mr. H. G. R. Mason (Auckland Suburbs), at 2.30 a.m. today, asked tlie Minister of Railways if it were true as I’eported in telegrams received by lnm, that the workshops at Otaliuhu YfT e w ° rkin S two hours overtime dailj, when there was much unemployment. The Hon. W. B. Taverner said that trom the latest returns the working ot overtime was not general. It was not desired to work overtime by the department if it could be avoided. Instructions had been issued to employ all available men on the shifts.
