RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“THE VIKINGS” “The Viking,” a thrilling and beau- ; tiful epic of 1,000 years ago, in natuI ral colours, with Pauline 1 Starke, | Donald Crisp, and Le Roy Mason heading a distinguished cast, is now at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres. The story* deals with the adventures of the Vikings, the famous maritime race from the north of Europe, who held sway over the northern seas j about 1,000 years ago. The furbished armour of the Vikings, their plumecrested helmets, and their glittering spears and swords, are said to be faithfully produced. The scene? depicting the long war vessels manned with fierce, stalwart warriors, and rowed by serried ranks of slaves, are of a particularly interesting nature. The ever-changing colours of the sea, the the azure skies by day and the starstudded heavens by' night, and the spectacular triumphant processions of the Vikings through conquered lands, are all presented. Woven into the semihistoric nature of the story is an entertaining romance. An amusing comedy, entitled “You Know What Sailors Are,” is the second feature.
