COUNTRY PARTY
MEETING of franklin branch Members were present from Glenbrook, Mauku, Bombay, Pukekohe East, Waiuku and Kohekohe at the annual meeting of the Franklin branch of the New Zealand Country Party Political League at Pukekohe. Mr. J. W. Robinson presided. In reviewing the activities of the league, the president stated that the candidate for the Franklin seat had polled exceptionally well at the past general election. It was the intention to prepare for any eventualities in the political world. The treasurer reported that the campaign had been conducted on the basis of voluntary subscription and that there was a small credit balance. Officers elected were: President. Mr. J. W. Robinson: vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Hodgkinson and A. Ingram; secretary, pro tern, Mr. F. A. liarcombe; treasurer, pro tem, Mr. C. Hodgkinson; executive, Messrs. J. Muir, R. Iv. Membery, G. Gathercole. H. Carey, A. L. Hull, V. Wright and G. F. Page. It .was decided to nominate a candidate for the Franklin seat at the next general election.
