Mother Mary Bertrand, last of a band of pioneer Dominican Sisters, who came to New Zealand 60 years ago. and who established a Dominican convent in Duneplin. celebrated the sixtieth year of her life as a nun today. The celebrations included Pontifical High Mass, a garden fete, and a presentation which took the form of a scholarship in her name, providing fo.r tuition at the convent for secondary pupils.—P.A.
