FOOTBALLERS’ DANCE
BOMBAY RUGBY CLUB'S GAY FUNCTION TROPHIES PRESENTED
One of the most successful social functions held at Bombay was the annual ball of the Bombay Rugby Football Club, which took place on Thursday evening. The hall was prettily decorated with streamers of amber and black, the club’s colours. The function was well attended, several clubs in the Franklin and Pukekohe Sub-Unions being represented. Dance music was played by the Kit Kat Orchestra. The masters of ceremonies were Messrs. YV. Lowrie, L. Wootten, A. Bennett and J. Townsend. A spot waltz was won by Air. Brownlee and Aliss A. Ingram, and a Alonte Carlo waltz by Air. JR. Evans and Aliss JB. Proude.
Opportunity was taken to present trophies and caps won during the past season, the club president. Air. H. J. Flay, officiating in the absence of the president of the sub-union, Mr. S. Woodcock. Among those present were; Airs. J. Townsend, wearing a turquoise blue georgette frock; Airs. G. Carter, peacock blue crepe de chine relieved with gold lace; Mrs. R. Evans, apricot rayon silk: Mrs. G. Adamson, apricot georgette frock of uneven hemline; Mrs. J. Sclilaepfer, pink georgette with radium lace frills; Mrs. Henderson, black georgette frock; Mrs. Harrison, beige, crepe de chine; Airs. YY. Landon, apricot silk lace; Airs. D. A. Mcßae, cyclamen georgette with silver sequins; Airs. D. J. Miller, rayon silk relieved with silver lace: Aliss Thelma Townsend, cream tulle frock with tiered skirt of uneven hemline. Aliss L. Holmes, green georgette relieved with fawn; Miss Audrey Carter, cream satm, lace frilled frock: Miss AI. Ingram, petunia crepe de chine. Aliss E. Foote, silver lace over green satin; Aliss Myrtle Wootten, eau de riU frock with lace relief: Aliss V. Anderton, pink with lace overdress; Aliss p. Hayward, mauve lace; Miss F. Craig, blac-K. crepe de chine; Miss Evelyn Landon. biscuit coloured crepe de chine; Miss McLean, ocean blue panne velvet; Miss Peterson, grey satin: Aliss Rio Harrison, ivory georgette; Aliss Donovan, biacK georgette relieved with diamente; Alus Amy Ingram, blue frilled sa»in; Miss L.
