“THE NAUGHTY DUCHESS” “Please, monsieur, for five minutes only, allow me to be your wife!” The distinguished-looking gentleman in the railway carriage, covertly observing the somewhat flurried but most attractive girl who dashed into his compartment as if making an escape, just as the train left Paris, looked up from his “Temps” in astonishment as the vision made her startling request. And so began the hectic week-end which saw the duke wedded, jilted, and betrothed again, according to “The Xaughtv Duchess,” the picture now at the Grand and Lyric Theatres, suggested by Sir Anthony Hope’s novel, “The Indiscretion of the Duchess.” A second attraction is shown at both theatres in "Piccadilly,” a big British picture dealing with London night club life, and based on Arnold Bennett’s story. Gilda Gray and Anna May Wong are the stars.
