RIFLE SHOOTING
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB The third shoot for the president’s j trophy was fired by members ol' the Auckland City Rifle Club on the Penrose range on Saturday under good conditions. The ranges were 300 and 300 yards, the former causing the marksmen a lot of trouble. Competition was very keen. G. G. Ivellv’s winning score being good, but the outstanding performance was that of the Grammar School boy, C. Robieson, who was within two points of the leader over open sights with a military rifle and no sling. Spoons were won by C. Robieson, X. W. Chiswell and C. Peat. The trophy points to date are: —G.
