COLLEGE STUDENTS

FESTIVAL AT ST. JOHN’S MEETING OF OLD BOYS Sunshine flooded the quiet courtyards of St. John’s College at Tamaki this morning when 25 members of the St. John’s College Old Students’ Association met at the annual festival which comes as part of the Church of England Synod week. After the arrival of the members, who were met by the warden, Canon A. W. Payne, a service was held in the chapel, the Rev. Walter Averill delivering the address and the warden taking the service. An informal meeting of the association was then held in the college, after which the visitors were the guests of the warden at luncheon. Early in the afternoon the members motored back to Bishopscourt for the Archbishop’s garden party.
