“NET AND FISH”

UNUSUAL MESSAGE TO NEW BISHOP “Let the new net now gather up the fish ...” In colourful manner, the Akarana Maori Association this morning sent a congratulatory message to the Venerable Archdeacon Herbert Williams, the new Bishop of Waiapu in place of Bishop Sedgwick. The message also referred to Archdeacon Williams as a “supporting post of Aotearoa.” The Maoris of Auckland are pleased with the election of Archdeacon Williams as bishop in view of his wide knowledge of the Maori race. He is recognised as an authority on Maori philology.
