SLEEPING ON SACKS

VAGRANT GAOLED FOR THREE MONTHS

Said to be living in squalor in a little hut on the North Shore, Robert Reid, a photographer aged 59, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment at the Police Court this morning on a charge of vagrancy.

Reid pleaded guilty, and Sub-Inspec-tor McCarthy said that the man lived all by himself in a shack. He slept on a bed of sacks, and had done no work for a long time.
