FATAL FIGHT IN RING

QUARREL OF BROTHERS HAS TRAGIC SEQUEL CLEANLY-FOUGHT BOUT (United Service) LONDON, Monday. A boxing contest at Blaenaven, South W’ales, which according to an advertisement arose out of a family quarrel, resulted fatally. Walter Edwards, aged 21, a married man, was opposed in the contest by Charles Redman, aged 25, a miner. In the final round, when Edwards was leading on points, he fell unconscious —it is alleged after he had received a blow—and died five hours later. It is believed that the cause of the contest was a dispute between the younger brothers of the two men, after which the latter agreed to fight in a friendly fashion under the auspices of the Blaenaven Boxing Club. The referee and an eye-witness describe the fight as perfectly clean and well contested.
