WORK DELAYED.—Owing to the continuous rain at Auckland yesterday, practical! v no work was done on the waterfront, consequently the departure of several vessels has been postponed. KARAMEA DEPARTS.—A departure from Auckland last evening was the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Karamea, which sailed for London and west coast ports of England via Panama. KI A ORA AT LONDON.—A cable message to the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company reports that the Kia Ora arrived at London on Friday afternoon from Wellington, en route to West Coast ports of Great Britain. She left Wellington on August 23. REMUERA FOR WELLINGTON.— Now discharging at Auckland, the New' Zealand Shipipng Company’s liner Remuera is to be dispatched from here next Tuesday for Wellington, where she “will complete the discharge of her London cargo. ROTORUA TO COMPLETE.—To complete her loading for Home, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua leaves Auckland at noon on Friday for Wellington. She is scheduled to clear Wellington finally on October 19 for Southampton and London, via Panama. PIAKO SAILS TOMORROW.—Efforts are being made by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company to dispatch the steamer Piako from Auckland at daybreak tomorrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff to complete discharge of Liverpool cargo. lONIC LEAVES HOME.—Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that their liner j lonic left Southampton on Friday after- ' noon for Wellington with passengers only for that port, and general cai'go to discharge at Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Bluff. The vessel is due at Wellington on November 11. WAITEMATA LEAVES LOS ANGELES.—CabIed news has been received by the Union Company that the Waiternata left Los Angeles at 6.30 p.m. on October 3 with. Pacific Coast cargo for discharge at Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Nelson and New Plymouth. She is due at Napier on Octobex* 31. NORTH PACIFIC CLEARS PANAMA. —Advice has been received by Henderson and Macfarlane that, the steamer North Pacific, en route from Casablanca, Morocco, with phosphates foi* discharge at Auckland, New’ Plymouth and Wanganui, left Panama on October 1. She is expected at Auckland on November 2. MATOPPO SAILING.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Matoppo will now leave Auckland at daybreak tomorrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin to land the remainder of her New York cargo. TAIROA REPORTS.—Wireless advice received from the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Tairoa states that she will arrive from Liverpool at daybreak on Friday. The vessel has general merchandise from "West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. L. D. Nathan and Company, Limited, -will act as the local agent. TAINUI ‘'ALL WELLY—The Shaw. Savill and Albion Company has received a wireless message from the liner Tainui, via the Awarua radio station, near Bluff, reporting that the ship was 5,000 miles away froxn Wellington. The news conveyed was “Passing the Corinthic. All well.” The Tainui left Wellington on September 19 for Southampton and London, via the Panama route. Evidently the liner was about a couple of days’ steaming from the Canal when the message was dispatched.
TAMAROA’S PROGRAMME. —A further alteration lias been made with the itinerary of the Shaw*, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Tamaroa. The vessel will now leave Auckland at 4 o’clock this afternoon for loading at Lyttelton and Napier. She then returns here on October 19. and after picking up the local portion of her cargo, sails again on October 24 for Wellington, where she completes loading, and finally depai'ts on October 30 for Southampton and London, via- Panama.
KAITANGATA FOR AUCKLAND. — Advice has been received by the local office of the T T nion Company that the steamer Ivaitangata is due at Devonport, Tasmania, on Saturday, where she will load for Auckland direct. MAUI POMARE’S MOVEMENTS’; — Spedding, Limited, advises that the Government motor-ship is due at Dunedin on Monday from Apia, Samoa, and Xiue j Island, and, after calling at Lyttelton and Wellington, is due here on October 20. She is scheduled to leave Auckland on October 21 for Xorfolk Island. KAITOKE RADIOS.—Radio advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the collier Kaitoke is expected to arrive at Auckland at 6 a.m. on Friday from Gladstone, Queensland. The vessel is bringing a cargo of coal for discharge here, after which she undergoes overhaul and survey at this port. SYDNEY STEAMERS. —The Marama leaves Auckland at 3 p.m. on Friday for Sydney, and the Maheno sails from Wellington at noon the same day. The Ulimaroa, which arrived at Sydney at 6 a.m. yesterday from Auckland, leaves the Xew South Wales port at noon on Friday for ‘Wellington. All the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. WAIPAHI REPORTS.—According to a radio message received by the local office of the Union Company, the Island fruit steamer Waipahi is now expected to arrive at Auckland at daylight tomorrow from the Cook Islands. She will now berth at the Queen’s Wharf to land her mails and cargo. It is hoped to dispatch her again the same evening for Portland where she will load cement for Wellington and Lyttelton. PASSENGERS FOR ’FRISCO.—The Union Company’s R.M.S-. Makura, which left 'Wellington yesterday afternoon for Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco, took the following passengers from Xew Zealand:—First saloon; Misses Firth and A. Newton, Mesdames L. E. Newton, G. H. Trader and Vickerman, Messrs. W. E. Bevan, E. C. Baugh, E. A. Reid, G. H. Trader and Vickerman. Second saloon: Messrs. Blake, C. D. Herbert, L. M. Jennings, Jones, E. Scanlon and R. Wills, Mesdames A. Allison and E. Wills, Messrs. A. Allison, FI. May, Winstone and the Rev. R. Greenwood; and 12 thirdclass. NIAGARA’S PASSENGERS. The Union Company’s R.AI.S. ARAPAWA was dispatched from Wanganui to Westport to load coal for Dargaville. She will return to port from there. HAUTURU, arriving from Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Fleads at 6 a.m. tomorrow, is to be dispatched for Hokianga at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. | HOKIANGA is leaving for Hokianga i this evening. I KAITOA sailed yesterday afternoon I for Nelson and Alotueka. She is due | back in port on Sunday to load for Nelson only. XGAPUHI arrived from New Plymouth ! this morning. At 3 o'clock tomorrow ! afternoon she leaves for that port again.
