GENEROUS GIFT
NEW PARK FOR HAMILTON LAND NEAR RIVER From Our Oun Correspondent HAMILTON, Todaj*. Hamilton’s parks and reserves w-ill have a valuable addition as the result of a gift of a fine piece of laud at the top of Opoia Road, on the Claudelands side of the railway bridge, which has been made to the borough by Dr. A. S. Brewis and family. The land, which contains IS acres, has a Government valuation of £BOO, and has been cleared preparatory to being handed over to the beautifying society. The donors desire the area to be used as a public park and no restrictions are to be placed on the use of the park by persons wishing to indulge in boating and bathing in the river. Magnificent trees abound, making the spot ideal for a reserve, and it is only two minutes from the centre of the town.
