JOHANNESBURG CYCLONE
ROOFS CARRIED AWAY LIKE PAPER DAMAGE OF £100.009 Australian and N.Z. Press Association Reed. Noon. CAPETOWN, Monday. A cyclone swept the southern suburbs of Johannesburg. The galvanised roofs of the Crown mines and the native compound were carried a mile like pieces of paper. Thousands of trees were uprooted. The damage is estimated at £IOO,OOO. Only a few people were injured.
