The tenth year of matrimony is the most dangerous, according to an analysis in the Registrar-General’s report on divorce. Formerly the eighth year was considered the riskiest. Despite the older generation’s belief that present-day youngsters marry thoughtlessly, and divorce without delay, early annulments of marriage are rare, and are becoming rarer. Not one marriage in 10,000 is dissolved in the first year, the majority of divorces ! being sought by people who have | been married for some time, j Only 14 per cent, of the divorces are of those married for live years, while those married for ten years and over show 52 per cent, of the total.
