The Governor-General, Sir Charles Kergusson. visited Nelson College yesterday. Today the Vice-Regal party left for Blenheim and were entertained at Havelock en route. They will visit the local schools tomorrow and will be given an official farewell and a reception in the Town Ilall in the evening. On Thursday they will leave for Picton on their way to Wellington. Savage, M.P.’s, left by train fc-r Wellington last evening. Mr. Leslie ID. Lovelock has been appointed town clerk by the Palmerston North Borough Council. Lambert, who, for ti e past seven years has been minister at the Thames Baptist Church, has accepted a call to the Mosgiel Baptist Church. The Rev. E. Fletcher, of Tarcutta, New South Wales, arrived by the Maunganui this morning on a holiday visit to Auckland. He was accompanied by his wife and family. Mr. I. F. Bowater, personal representative of Boivater’s Paper Mills. England, arrived by the Maunganui this morning and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. George Springhall. managing director of Armstrong and Springhall, Ltd., arrived in Auckland today from Wellington. He sails by the Niagara tonight on a business trip to Australia. Hr. TV*. .T.
