TAUMARUNUI The Taumarunui and Raetihi Golf Clubs tried conclusions during the week-end, the games being contested in ideal weather. Taumarunui won the women’s four-ball match by four games to one, and the men’s four-ball by five games to nil. The local club also took the women’s singles by nine games to one and the men’s singles by six to four. TE KUITI There was a large number of members present on Saturday at the Te KLuiti Golf Club’s course at Te Kumi on the occasion of the closing of the season and the presentation of trophies. The president, Mr. C. H. Tate, in the unavoidable absence of the club’s patron, Mr. AY'. 'J. Broadfoot, M.P., briefly reviewed the season, stating that it had been the, most successful in the history of the club. Improvements to the course had been carried out and the King Country golf championships which were held at Te Kuiti had been very successful. Marked improvement in play among the junior members had been noted, and the aggregate cup had been won by the Rev. E. R. Ross. Mrs. Tate then presented the various trophies to the following: Men.—Club championship: J. Saunders. Junior championship: A. W. Barker. Steedman-Herbert Cup: C. H. Tate. Aggregate Cup: Rev. E. R. E. Ross. First teams’ match: C. H. Tate, C. Johnston, R. Cooke, W. Frerichs. Gollin Balls: Ross and Dinsdale (tie). First stroke handicap: B. Harrison. Second stroke handicap: J. Dinsdale. First bogey: J. Saunders. Second bogey: C. Bathgate. Eclectic handicap: L. Stevens. Women.—Championship: Miss T. Graham. Junior championship: Miss L. Gray. Harrison Cup: Mrs. McLeod. L.G.U. Medals: Seniors, Mrs. Kennedy; juniors, Miss Graham. First teams’ match: Mesdames Kennedy, Tate, Aitken and Miss Matthews. Second teams’ match: Mrs. Robinson, Misses T. Dinsdale, Barker and Mrs. Mainland. C grade stroke: Miss AY. Matthews. First stroke handicap: Mrs. I. C. Robinson. First bogey handicap: Mrs. McLeod. Mrs. Broadfoots Trophy: Miss T. Dinsdale. Airs. Dinsdale; Mrs. Howarth’s Trophy, Mrs. AA'. Johnson. The best card banded in for the round of nine holes (mixed foursomes) was that of T. M. Hetet and Miss L. Gray, with a nett score of 34.
