r PO win is pleasant, to lead one’s friends to winnings is more pleasant. When a fair backer, known to “Early Bird,” collected the bast part of three-quarters of a century after the last race at Ellerslie yesterday, she was very popular with her friends who, lacking other inspiration, had followed her lead. She had a whole ticket on Eager Rose and half as much again on Le Choucas.
