FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ ASSOCIATION RESULTS OF TOURNEY Tho Auckland Friendly Societies’ Indoor Bowling Association concluded the champion singles tourney on Saturday, with the final four rounds of section play, and the inter-section play on the two-life system was also concluded. The champion for 1929 is Bro. Geo. F. Bay, the secretary, who, despite the strain of his secretarial work, got 10h wins out of 12 games in the section play, and in the inter-section play went through without a loss. He played consistently and confidently throughout and his win was very popular. The runner-up, Bro. A. Williams, is a player young in experience, but with a beautiful clean delivery and a match-winning disposition. He was unfortunate in meeting Bro. Bay, who gave him all his losses, on an occasion when the champion was right at the top of his form. Both these players are from Bevonport, and two of the other finalists hail from Birkenhead, while in the pairs tourney, eight finalists came from Birkenhead.
