CHEAP RAIL FARES

SOUTH ISLAND REDUCTION Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. An unusually cheap regular Sunday railway service to Timaru will start on November 3. From that date Sunday fares will be 7s first class return, and 5s second class return. The introduction of this service at these rates is a new departure in railway practice in the South Island. The train will be run every Sunday from Christchurch to Timaru and another from Timaru to Christchurch, both trains returning the same evening. The morning trains will leave in the vicinity of 9 o’clock, and the return trip will start from the terminal stations at 5 p.m.
