TRAMWAY CENTRE POLES

START ON REMOVAL WORK A start has been made by the Transport Board with the removal of tram centre-poles at the foot of Parnell Rise. Having made an agreement with the Post and Telegraph Department and the Auckland Electric-Power Board, the overhead wiring will be attached, wherever possible, to the telegraph and electric-power poles already erected on the side of the road. The number of new poles, and the expense, will therefore be reduced to a minimum.
