FROM 1,500 TO 6,000 DOLLARS CRUISE OF MALOLO From a paltry 1,500 dollars up to the imposing figure Of 6,000 dollars, the liner Malolo, which will reach Auckland on December 1 with a party of 300 American business men on board, offers variety in the way of accommodation and fares. A glance over the list of fares is Illuminating. Provision has been made for those laden with surplus wealth, while those with more restricted incomes are not unduly penalised. Part of a suite de luxe, consisting of salon, one room with twin beds and a private tub bath will cost a man and his wife 12,000 dollars, or approximately £2,400. Suites de luxe, comprising salon, two rooms, with twin beds, two bathrooms and accommo dating four persons, will cost each person, 5,500 dollars or £l,lOO. These are located on “B” decks. Rooms de luxe with private tub bath and twin beds are worth 5,000 dollars. A single cabin on the same deck with private shower is priced at from 3,100 to 4,000 dollars. Two-berth cabins on “C” deck with tub baths, range in price from 2,300 to 3,800 dollars, those paying the lower price sharing their bath. “E” deck is the cheapest. Here, passengers whose fares range from 1,500 to 2,000 dollars are carried. There are no baths in these cabins. The prices charged are full cruise fares, and include all expenses for the cruise on board ship and on shore in accord with shore visits. Strictly personal items are not included, such as the cost of passports and vises, laundry, beverages, tips to 'steamship stewards and American Government war tax of five dollars, nor the rental o* steamer rugs, if desired (five dollars). Deck chairs are provided free of charge. The Malolo “will be the home of the visitors everywhere, except at Nikko < Japan), Peiping (China) and Rotorua, where the shore excursions requ're overnight stops. Every provision for the comfort and amusement of passengers has been made, from a physician and a chiropodist, to clay pigeon shooting and quoits. One of the great attractions of the cruise will be the Pompeiian swimimng pool into which fresh water will be pumped daily. The cruise lasts from September 21 to December 20 and covers 24,000 miles.
