LIMERICK COMPETITION
The results of the limerick competition are as follow: First Prize.—Jean Mclndoe, Victoria Street, Whitiora, Hamilton, aged 14. A man called Horatio Tipping Went to sea in the wake of the shipping , But his boat was so frail “Here’s a find!” said a whale . . . You'll admit this brief story is gripping. Second Prize.—Jean Danes, 16 Wolfe Street, Whangarei, aged 11: A man called Horatio Tipping Went to sea in the wake, of the shipping, But his boat was so frail That his calico sail With sea-spray was very soon dripping. Highly' commended: Dulcie Craig, Wellington, aged 12: The wind damaged his sail. And the wake claimed Horatio Tipping. Keith Wilkinson, Auckland, aged 8: He turned head over tail, And Horatio found himself slipping . Rosemary Perret\ Royal Oak, aged 11: Said, his friends, turning pale, “Oli, look at poor Tipping he's tipping!”
