CONSTRUCTION FEATURES OF THE GOODRICH HEAVY DUTY SILVERTOWNS UNDER THE HIDE OF A SILVERTOWN HEAVY DUTY Plies of stretch-matched cords heavily insulated with pure gum, ■welded together by internal pressure and the water cure. Adhesion that is unsurpassed by any other process. Cords spaced wider apart in outside plies, permitting the “ rubber lingers ” between plies to rivet the carcass into one sturdy and powerful unit preventing ply separation where the danger is greatest. Twin beads of greater durability, allowing improved anchorage of plies, and better seating of tire on rim. Fillers laminated between plies, allows cords to “ float freely ” and prevent Bhcering of plies, while tire is under road deflation. Interlocking cord breakers impregnated with rubber —also heat-resisting cushion that distributes road shocks over entire carcass area and reduces tire temperatures. Tread shoulders of correct design, tapering over sidewalls to bead. Tough, rugged, and long-lived compound. Positive traction carved into the face of the tread. The Goodrich Water Cure toughens the whole tire uniformly—sends curing heat to the deepest layers, changing soft gum into stout rubber.
