BRAVE YOUTH
TRIES TO SPARE MOTHER The story of a young man’s great fortitude under intense pain was told at Cheltenham at an inquest on Roland Cecil Paul, 21, who was kicked by a horse in the hayfield. Reaching home, he took off his boots, washed his face clear of bloodstains, and turned his face from his mother so that she should not see his injury. At Cheltenham Hospital doctors found that both jaws were fractured and there was a big wftund in the face. Paul died within a few hours from paralysis. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
