LABOUR’S OWN DAY

CELEBRATIONS AT DOMAIN COMMITTEE’S ARRANGEMENTS The Trades Hall Labour Day Committee is busy with arrangements for the coming celebration, and it is anticipated that the success of previous Labour Day functions will be maintained. Nominations for the various athletic events are now being received and indications are that the meeting will be a record one. Many star performers have again shown their interest in the Labour Day programme, and the prospects are bright. As usual, the committee is catering for the children on a lavish scale. About 4,000 toys will be given to the children. The family picnic can again be held at the Domain, as there will bo ample supplies of hot water, ices, soft drinks and refreshments. On Labour night a dance carnival will be held with confetti, spot light, chocolates, streamers and competitions. A special augmented orchestra has been engaged for the function.
