HIGH COMMISSIONER

SIR TAMES PARR’S TERM EXTENDED TILL END OF THE YEAR Australian and N.Z. Press Association t ( Unitea Servicej LONDON, Thursday. The High Commissioner for New Zealand, Sir James Parr, had booked passages for his wife, their daughters, and himself by the Mataroa, clue to sail for the Dominion on October S, but he has been requested by the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, to remain in office in London until the end of December. To this Sir Janies has assented. It is understood that, apart from his persoual inclinations, Sir James is impressed with the great importance of the Dominion being adequately represented at Geneva in November, when the Mandates Commission is to examine the past year’s affairs in Samoa; also at the Dominions’ Conference, which is to assemble at Tuesday, and presumably will last until December. Sir James will represent New Zealand at both gatherings.
