WAIHEMO LEAVES ’FRISCO.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the. steamer Waihemo left San Francisco last Saturday with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Melbourne and Sydney. She is due here on October 22. CORINTHIC FROM LONDON.—CabIe advice has been received that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Corinthie left Balboa on Sunday evening for Wellington and Auckland. The vessel is en route from London and Southampton, and is due at Wellington on October 22. PORT GISBORNE LEAVES BOSTON. —The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor-ship Port Gisborne, which left Auckland on August 27 for New York, Boston, Halifax and London, is reported to have cleared Boston on Tuesday. NORFOLK REACHES COLON.—The Federal Line steamer Norfolk is reported to have reached Colon on Tuesday in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool to Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Port Chalmers. She is due at Auckland on October 23. MAKURA LEAVES SYDNEY.—The Union Company’s steamer Makura left Sydney at five o’clock last evening for Wellington. The vessel has replaced the Maunganui, which has been withdrawn from the service, and will leave Wellington on Tuesday for San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete. RUAPEHU CLEARS PANAMA.—The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruapehu, which left London on September 12 with passengers for New Zealand, and general merchandise for discharge at Suva, Wellington, Port Chalmers. Lyttelton and New Plymouth, is reported to have left Panama on Tuesday. She is due at Wellington on October 27. MATOPPO DUE SUNDAY.—Due at Auckland at noon on Sunday from New York, the A. and A. Line's chartered steamer Matoppo will unload the local portion of her cargo under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company before proceeding to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin to complete discharge.
KAITOKE FOR AUCKLAN D.—-Advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the collier Kaitoko was to leave Gladstone, Queensland, this morning with a full cargo of coal for discharge at Auckland. She is due here next Thursday. PORT DUNEDIN AT NEW YORK.— The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor-ship Port Dunedin is reported to have reached New York on Tuesday from London. The vessel is scheduled to leave New York next Thursday for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Fremantle. CLEARS MADElßA.—According to advice received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, the liner Rangitiki, en route from London and Southampton, arrived at and sailed from Madeira yesterday for Auckland and Wellington. She is expected here oix October 30. ROTORUA DUE TUESDAY.—Leaving Lyttelton at 5 p.m. tomorrow for Auckland, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua is due here next Tuesday for loading. The vessel clears Auckland again on October 12 for Wellington, where she completes loading, and finally departs on October 19 for London and Southampton, via Panama. MAUNGANUI FOR AUCKLAND.— Leaving Sydney this afternoon for Auckland, the Union Company's steamer Maunganui is due here on Tuesday morning. After landing her passengers, mails and cargo, the vessel will undergo her annual overhaul and survey \at this port. She will re-enter the intercolonial service by leaving Wellington on November 22 for Sydney. i KARAMEA IN PORT.—This morning the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Karamea arrived at Auckland from Wellington, and berthed at the Queen’s Wharf to complete her loading under the agency of L. D. Nathan and Company. She is scheduled to leave here at daylight on Tuesday next for London, and West Coast ports of England Via Panama. NIAGARA AT SUVA.—According to a cable message received by the local office of the Union Company, the R.M.S. Niagara arrived at Suva at 6 o'clock this •morning from Vancouver and way ports, and left again shortly after noon for Auckland, where she is due on Monday. The Niagara will berth at the Prince’s Wharf, and at 5 p.m. on Tuesday leaves here for Sydney. PORT VICTOR TO LOAD.—Now loading at New Plymouth, the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Victor leaves there early tomorrow morning for Auckland, where she is due on Monday to load t under the agency of Heather, Roberton. Ltd. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel the same evening for Australian ports io complete loading for Genoa and England. REMUERA REPORTS AGAIN.—A further radio message received by the local ! office of the New Zealand Shipping Com- : Pany states that the liner Remuera from London and Southampton is now expected to arrive at Auckland on Monday afternoon. She has been allotted a berth at the Queen’s Wharf to land ner passengers, mails and part cargo, after which she proceeds to Wellington to complete discharge. PLUME AT WESTERN.—From San Francisco with a cargo of motor spirit, r, 2 eer I>lurne arrived in the stream at 10.od p.m. yesterday. The vessel now berthed at Western Wharf putting out the local portion of her cargo into the Vacuum Oil Company’s tanks at freeman’s Bay. She cleared San Francisco on September 12 and made a direct passage to Auckland, experiencing fair to moderate weather. Captain F. TOFUA SAILS TOMORROW.—The Union Company's Island passenger steamer Tofua was shifted from Prince’s Wharf at noon today to the Queen’s Wharf to complete her loading. She sails at 11 a.m. tomorrow on her monthly trip to Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. MARAMA FOR SYDN EY.-After an extensive overhaul and refit, the Union Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Alarama is to resume her running in the intercolonial service. She is scheduled to leave Auckland at 3 p.m. next Friday, October 11, for Sydney. PIAKO FROM LIVERPOOL.—The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Piako arrived at Auckland yesterday from Liverpool, and berthed at the Central Wharf to unload the local portion of her West of England cargo. After loading at Glasgow and Liverpool, the vessel left the last-mentioned port on August 17. Owing to stripping some of her tur-bine-blades the vessel put invo Falmouth the following Tuesday. Repairs were done there and the vessel left the following day. Fair to moderate weather was experienced crossing the Atlantic Ocean and Colon was reached on the evening of September 9. Bunkers were taken on board, and she cleared there at S a.m. next day, transit through the Canal being granted the same morning. Moderate weather was encountered until last week when she ran into a south-west gale and high seas, which delayed her slightly. These conditions continued until arrival. Through striking the wharf at Glasgow, she damaged her bows slightly as well as the wharf. Captain J. Laird is in command, and he lias associated with him the following officers:—Chief. Air. F.
