COUNCIL AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES BLOCK “FOR HEALTH DEPARTMENT” No opinion on the erection of the infectious diseases block in the grounds of the Auckland Hospital has come from the City Council. The council has taken tlie view that the, rights or wrongs of the proposal are primarily a question for decision by the Health Department and the medical profession. A recommendation to this effect came to the council last evening from its Town Planning Conimittee to which, at the previous council meeting, the controversial question had been referred for investigation arid report. When the question first was brought forward for discussion by the council, there was hesitation by several speakers in a movement to criticise the actions of its sister bo’dy, the Hospital Board. A long discussion took place on the scheme, but no opinion from the meeting was considered necessarj*.
