PONSONBY BOY’S BAND

NEW MEMBERS SELECTED The selection of applicants for admittance to the Ponsonby Boys’ Band took place on Wednesday evening to fill up the vacancy of a draft of boys that have moved up to the senior band after iS months’ training in the junior grade. About 35 boys were chosen, which makes a total roll of about 100. During the evening Bandsman Orrell on behalf of the junior band, which has moved to the senior grade, presented Mr. George Marsh, bandmaster, with a case of pipes and thanked Mr. Marsh for what he had done for them. Mr. Marsh said the boys had proved themselves good bandsmen. It had been a pleasure to have been associated with them.
