SWIMMING TOUR DATES
GRIER AND NOEL RYAN EXPECTED TWO AUCKLAND APPEARANCES Although it is not definitely t,nown that Noel Ryan, the young Sydney swimmer, and Reg Grier, of Queensland, are coming to New Zealand this season, preparations are. being made for their tour. More about the proposed visit was heard by the Auckland Swimming Centre last evening, when the New Zealand Council forwarded terms tinder which the tour by Rvan and Grier would be made final. The centre reaffirmed its approval of the visit and wrote to the council suggesting December 5 and December 10 or 12 as the dates for the two appearances of the Australians. The terms of the tour will be submitted to the clubs. Standardising of the rules for national championship diving would be supported by the centre, the meeting decided when a letter from the New Zealand Council said a special meeting was in view to revise certain points of the championship rules. Support was given the Wanganui Centre in its application for the holding of the national championship at Wanganui in 1931. The New Zealand Council will be notified of Auckland’s support of Wanganui's claim. Greymouth will be the venue of the approaching championships. A suggestion for the revision of the rules of the Davis Cup contest will be sent to the New Zealand Council. The decision was made on the motion of Mr. L. Brighton, Ponsoriby Club.
