PAEROA DEFENCE CLUB From Our Oicn Correspondent PAEROA, Tuesday. The second annual meeting of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club was. held yesterda3 r , the president, Mr. E. Edwards, being in the chair. The annual report showed that the club had a successful year, and the financial position was sound. The credit balance was £l4 18s lid, with assets totalling £53, and no liabilities. The following officers were elected: Patron, Major A. M. Samuel, M.P.; vice-patron, Lieut.-Colonel E. W. Porritt; president, Captain TP. O'. Hubbard; deputy-president, Mr. R. F. Wells; vice-presidents, Lieut. C. Bassett, V.C., Major E. Edwards, Lieut. V. J. Inn is, Dr. W. W. Little, Messrs. F. E. Flatt, J. Brenan, W. Marshall, C. IST. O’Neill, A E. Surrey, D. Leach, P. Williams; hon. secretary, Mr. A. A. Jenkinson; hon. auditor, Mr. W. D. Nicholas; handicap committee and selectors, Captain F. C. Hubbard, Captain Simmonds, Mr. R. I. Wells; range officer, Captain Simmonds; assistant range officer, Mr. R. F. Wells; executive committee. Messrs. A. Coxhead, P. R. Hubbard, L. Morris, W. A. Reid, R. F. Roberts, A. Simmonds, E. Turton. Next Saturday was fixed for the opening shoot. It was decided to present a ParkerITall sigh ter to the secretary as a recognition for valuable services rendered.
