CRICKET MEETINGS

TAKAPUNA CLUB Satisfaction with the place achieved in last season's competition of the Auckland Cricket Association was expressed at the annual meeting of the Taka puna Cricket Club last evening. Air. G. C. Malcolm presided over a fair attendance.

Tho annual report showed that the rlub had finished second in the senior B grade. Ten matches had been played for seven wins and three losses. The batting and bowling averages were headed by Messrs. G. R. Craig and A. Burton, respectively, the only club century of the season being recorded by Air. Holliday. The balance revealed a satisfactory position, the sum of £ o 12s 8d being in hand at the end of the season.

The club decided to enter a team for the second grade competitions of

the A.C.A. and Jf sufficient member, are offering, a team will he entered in a lower grade. A satisfactory season was noted in the annual report of the Waitakaruru Cricket Club, presented to a small meeting last week, and the opinion was expressed that the club would be able to field a team of similar strength to that of the past season The playing field was reported to be in excellent order, having been grazed with sheep all the winter. Officers appointed were as follow: President, Air. H. L. Berney; secretary and treasurer. Air. X. Hedges; delegates to the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association, Alessrs. H. L. Berney and C.
