£lo FINE FOR MAORI
INTOXICATED IN CAR (Special to THE SUN} TE PUKE, Wednesday. A fine of £lO was imposed upon Hamiora Toromati in the Police Court today for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. The police stated that accused was arrested after a motor accident opposite the police station on September 2S. He had had a few drinks and was on his way to the public pound with some companions when he drove over a bank in Station Road. The car was severely damaged, but the occupants escaped injury. An occupant of the car who was charged with being disorderly on the same occasion was convicted and fined £5, in default a month's imprisonment. . _ A* - --
