ACRIMONIOUS DEBATE IN LABOUR PARTY J “ASSOCIATE MEMBERS” Australian and 2s.Z. Press Association LONDON, Tuesday. The delegates to the Labour Party’s conference at Brighton today discussed a new draft constitution for the party. An acrimonious debate was aroused by a proposal made by the executive to create a new class of associate members. They would not be associated with the local Labour Party, but would pay a subscription of one guinea. This was denounced as “superior person snobbery'’ and the clause fin- j ally was withdrawn.
