ISHBEL NOT WORRIED
PLACE AT WHITE HOUSE BANQUETS ANXIOUS ABOUT FROCKS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) t Australian and. 22. Z. Press Association) Reed. 1.22 p.m. LONDON, Wednesday. According to messages from the liner Berengaria, -which is taking the Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald to America, his daughter Ishbel is getting anxious about her frocks, as she nears the beginning of her great adventure, but she is not in the least worried about where to sit at White House banquets." She laughingly said: ‘’When I go to Buckingham Palace, father sits at the top of the table and I sit below with the attaches. I do not mind where I sit, so long as 1 have someone to talk to.”
Mr. MacDonald spent today in reading. Also, he sat for his portrait, and with Ishbel in the evening he watched a carnival dinner and dance, but he retired early. Later his daughter joined a party of friends on board, and danced until after 11 p.m.
The Prime Minister has eaten all his meals in the public dining-room, and mingled with the passengers. Indications of the widespread interest in his voyage being taken throughout the United States and Canada have reached Mr. MacDonald from many sources. He is grateful to know that the tremendous importance he attaches to his visit to Washington is shared so widely. It is understood that while the Prime Minister is in Canada he expects that some definite progress in regard to the relief of unemployment in Britain will be made.
