BRIDGE COMMISSION

PERSONNEL NOT KNOWN The personnel of the proposed Harbour Bridge Commission is still a mystery to the Auckland Harbour Board. At yesterday’s meeting of the board Mr. J. B. Johnston drew attention to a Press message to the effect that the Prime Minister had stated that two members of the commission had been appointed and the third appointment would be made as soon as the Auckland Harbour Board’s approval had been obtained. The chairman, Mr. M. H. Wynyard, said that during his absence from Auckland the superintendent, Mr. H. R. Burnett, had telegraphed to the Prime Minister, but there was no reply as yet. “We will receive a reply at the same time as the clean receipt for unemployment,” said Mr. E. W. Inder, amid laughter.
