HARBOUR BOARD LEASE SOLD FREEZING COMPANY’S EXPANSION A formal request for the transfer of the lease of the property occupied by J. J. Craig, Ltd., at King’s Wharf, to tlie Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co., Ltd., and a sub-lease of a portion of the property, back to the vendors, tvas received at yesterday’s meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board. The price to be paid was £19,250. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee to enable some members to gain further Information in connection with the terms of the sub-lease. The freezing company has found it necessary to acquire more land in the vicinity of its present freezing and grading stores on the wharf, in view of the rapid expansion of the dairying industry in the Auckland Province. The buildings affected by the lease, which expires in 1968, will be little altered, but when the Harbour Board approves the transaction a commencement will be made with the laying down of further railway sidings. At King’s Wharf the company will operate a kerosene-driven engine of a type new to New Zealand. s
